I am looking to buy a 1979 ski tique with a ford 302 v-8. Okay, this boat needs a lot of repairs and i am wondering if its worth it. It needs paint, i was thinking of dupont emron. It needs a new motor, the 302 is worn. I was thinking of upgrading to a 351 ford. Also, the boat pulls to one side when cruising, is this normal, could the drive shaft bent, transmission seems okay. this boat needs rewired, all new parts, alternator, etc. ALso i am looking to pay about $1500, is this a good price? Cool little boat, and i plan to do almost all the work myself, actually, all but reupohlstry.

I have a '78 Tique that I will be selling once I get it out of storage. I will let it go for $3500.00. The boat runs awesome and runs straight. The boat was just painted two years ago and the interior was done a year ago. If you are interested, please e-mail me at bdoescher@midwestrubber.com.

Sounds like a lot of work and the associated lots of bucks. If you're doing it for the satisfaction of the project, that's great, go for it, but if you're doing it for an inexpensive boat.... Brando might have a good deal, or have you seen the 79 Tique advertised on this site in Denver, NC? I don't know where you are but if its do-able, I'd look at that one. I would if I hadn't just bought my 76 last spring. Either way, good luck. You will enjoy it. They are terrific little boats.

A friend of mine had a drive shaft made for a $150. I can't remember the name of the place but it's between Wilmington and Carolina Beach, NC.
