I've got a lot of video I would like to share on youtube or even on this site. Does anyone know what you need to make this happen?
I have a DVD recorder but when I put the DVD into my computer, I can't transfer it to the computer! Brant |

In the back of my computer on the sound card, there are several input jacks. I know that one is for adding a microphone but I'm wondering if I can hook up stereo jacks into one of the inputs. I want to hook my VCR up to the computer. I also want to hook up my turn table and transfer my albums to my Ipod. (now I really sound old!)

No sweat.
The cables you have aren't going to get the job done unfortunately. You need the actual box (hardware) and the CD that comes with it (software). |

You need something like this. Looks like they call them something like "Video CreatorConverter" depending on the brand. It plugs into your computer via USB port, and has the female RCA & S-video jacks on the box. Plug your camcorder directly into it, or hook up the VCR to the thing. Then, using the software you record while hitting "play" on the camcorder or VCR. Now you have a .wmv or .mpg file (you can chose) stored on your computer to upload to YouTube or Photobucket!
