Waterski Hull

Chip, How good is the hull for what? Sking or wakeboarding? This question is very general. There are plenty of people on C.C.F. including my self that would love to help. You have to let us know what your lookin for. There were several changes to the hull since 1980 and this could be talked about for hours. Just rethink the question and the advise will poor in. -Brad-

I am no expert, but I think CC has made the following hull changes after the "2001" models:

1990: Minor hull change with the major change being SRP or Spray Relief Pockets. Wake flatter and softer with less spray than "2001" models. Probably the major contributor to the flatter wake is due to the light weight of the boats over the "2001". The weight savings was due to a thinner composite as result of using biaxial roving (in lieu of woven roving) and epoxy resin (among other things). I understand that these boats throw a decent wake when loaded down for wakeboarding. No experience here at all...just what I have heard.

1997: Major hull change with the introduction of TSC or Total Surface Control. I understand that this made a huge difference in flattening and softening the wake for water skiiing. I have heard conflicting stories on how good or bad the boats are for wakeboarding when loaded down. I think not so good (peaky wake?).

2002: Minor refinement of TSC with the introduction of TSC2. Even softer and flatter wake than TSC, but no clue on effects of adding weight for wake boarding.

Hope this helps. Seems to me that CC introduced boats geared to wakeboarding with the advent of TSC because of wake issues. Not sure here, but maybe others with TSC can chime in how they perform when weighted.
