when The windshield busted in my 83 a few years ago I had one made from a local glass company. I first took a piece of cardboard and cut to fit inside the windshield frame. took the cardboard template to the glass company and had one cut and tempered. after taking the top frame off, a couple of deep breaths and a prayer, proceeded to fit it into the frame. it went pretty easy as it flexed quite a bit. a good silicone around the edges and 5 yrs later still good. I think it ended up costing around $ 140 for the glass.   good luck

If you have the frame then yea it is best to get a new piece cut at a glass shop. If your not comfortable bending it into the frame ask the glass place to mount it for you!
