The steering on my 96 ski nautique seems like it is "loose." I can move the wheel left and right a little ways before the rudder moves. It seems to be move from the 12 oclock to the 1 oclock position as far as distance, before the rudder moves, but might be slightly less. I am thinking this should be tighter. Is there any way to tighten this, or do i need to replace the cable? I have not yet removed the rear seat or floor yet. I was gonna wait and see what might need to be done first. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I was able to get some of the play out by tightening two screws in the tilt section of the steering column. There is a still a little play in the tilt section, so I will consider it normal wear and replace it later if it gets more.
