Hey guys I got the most important question and need some good feed back from the pro's!! What do yall use to detail your boats, from wax to carpet cleaner. I have been looking at some of yalls diaries and the boats are looking great so I want to keep mine looking as good as it did the day I got it, which was show room clean (thanks James). So let the feed back begin.

Sometimes you're flush and sometimes you're bust, and when you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, you never think you'll be up again, but life goes on.

SInce your dealing with some black gel, I would use a water vinegar mixture in a spray bottle to spray the hull before you wipe it down after use. This will help get rid of water spots. I like the 3M wax products for a thick base wax, I wax about 3-4 times a year and just got hooked on Babes Boat Spray wax last weekend. I use the spray wax on the deck when I wipe it down after skiing and it seems to work well. I was told it was not a replacement for a base wax, just something to use in between.
I had my interior replaced about two years ago and it still looks great! My secret....IT NEVER GETS DIRTY!! I just use a spray bottle with water (or lake water) and clean anything from that day. But, hardly ever do I have food in the boat so no spills. You've got a beautiful boat there! Post some more pics and let us know what we all missed out on! Looks like a great buy! |

I use simple green on my interior in moderation. Works awsome. For a wax I use Dupont Carnuba wax with teflon or butter wax from starbrite. Both good products. To polish brass and chrome use autosol polish works wonders.

Luchog I also really loved the looks of that boat...my excuse isn't as good as your's though.
Congrats on the purchase, and welcome to the site. Post up some more pics of that beauty. I have used the Collinte #925 wax and it seems to be holding up really well. It is really simple to apply, just don't let it dry on the surface long or it will become really hard to wipe off. |

Thanks for the feed back. Yea the boat doesnt look like it s 13 years old at all. I will try storm34 trick about it never getting dity, but some times when you play hard you get a little dirty. The simple green wont mess up the threads on the seats? I assume that you can get the wax at any boating store

I wouldnt use anything to clean the vinyl besides what Correct Craft recommends- and they only recommend the stuff made by GT&T industries (who supplies the vinyl for the interior). It works awesome and you can get it at White Lake. 303 Aerospace protectant on the seats for protection, Collinite 925 wax on the gel after polishing/compounding with 3M materials. |
