I am considering purchasing a 23' Fish Nautique and would like to hear any pros and cons from owners of this boat. I am particularly intersted whether a certain year would be prefered over another? Also the handling and ride characteristics in choppy water and how wet the boat is? I am aware that most center consoles are pretty wet but the hull design on this boat looks pretty good. How easy is it to access the engine, stuffing box etc. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. The boat would mainly be used on Barnegat Bay in New Jersey which can get pretty lumpy at times. Thanks in advance for your help.
Jerry

I have a 1978 Fish, with a 1999 PCM 351 HO with 290 hp. Top end is 31 knots. custom tower, fish finder, gps, vhf, ect. But runs great. Put an additional gas tank in front of the center console. I find mine pretty dry but others I have said on rough days its pretty wet. I also put in a large box up front. I love mine but the correct craft I want is the San Juan fly bridge. I liked the newer design with the seating around the bow. But the guy I bought my boat took out the front lid on the floor storage and had a large box built on it, on the rear is a wash down and cutting station and then behind that is a bait tank. Then I had a large cusion made and snaped it on the box for seating for sleeping, I use mine for fishing and wake boarding.
