Now this is one scary boat! The Jersey Skiffs that Reid and Matt sell at Race City Marine; I think that the one that they are working on is called "Fast Buck". The one in this video runs over 100 mph!

Not busting my bubble by any means, dude. What is in this video is obviously not a sanctioned run, and who knows about what the radar gun in the video is showing, I certainly can't verify it. All that I know is that Matt at RCM knows the boat and driver and says that he is one crazy dude! Which I would say that one would have to be to ride one of those boats at 85 - 100 mph! Fearless would be an understatement. That was my point, not anything else.

Also you will note in the video that this boat is supercharged, which I don't think is exactly standard practice for "official" runs of this class.

Hey, I wouldn't know. If I can't hold my cold beverage in one hand and drive the boat with the other I am going too fast. Blessings on those that choose to do so!

The Jersey Skiffs are my favorite races to watch. We have a yearly race near my house that features hydros running at nearly 150mph. IMO, the JK's are way more fun to watch. Those guys have brass stones, or they're half blotto from the shine they've been running.
Play hard, life's not a trial run.

That's what I am talking about, FUN! Those crazy boats look like more fun than a barrel of monkeys! Ya gotta see the one that RCM is building!

Brian McCosker who runs a raceboat called Liberty. He lives a block or so from me in Tamworth. He has a awesome raceboat that does better than 100mph.

Link to a Liberty Race

Maybe we can introduce something like this at future reunions. We just need quinner to sort it out with the local authorities first.

Link to his web site.
Liberty Speed

He is a very clever fellow. Very handy when I need some fabricating done that is beyond my limited ability.

Funny, just two weeks ago watched a JS wrack bottom driving like a dope, off a classic 'point',   geography any 10 year old would know its shallow.

I thought the JS class is under 5L, and typically run 283 or 302 chebbies.

That boat is just nuckin futs, and can't imagine controlling it 4-5 abreast in the turns.

Yes the official Kilo record for an APBA LEGAL JS is held by Billy Darby He runs a Flywheel forward 283 built to Class Specifications. He built a brand new hull and deck us this last year. She is blue and White and is waiting for a new owner if anyone is interested

This video is ligit at 104 but it is not APBA Legal... He would be classified as a River Skiff (Non Racing)

Reid and I own Fast Buck and back in its racing days ran in the 65-70 with a legal 283. It also ran with a Drysump 358 in the 90's

Reid holds the BBC record in ours at 70.0 on a GPS... with a suped up 283. I hold the record for blowning engines up!

I will try to post some video for you guys to show you what skiff racing looks in traffic :)

averaged 68 miles an hour. talk about a bag of Jello after almost 4 hours of being beat to death

we still hit the 100 mark on those runs, in the 2' to 3's where the boat ran good, on the flat water we would top out at 96.
