Did everyone (except some parts of Indiana) remember to set their clocks back?

To the abstract...

Did we just see an hour of our lives vaporize or did we get right again?

Gary,
I think there's still one county in Indiana that still doesn't follow daylight savings!

Yes Indiana stopped the non-sense back in 2006. Pete, all of Indiana now observes DST, however, there are several counties in the northwest and southwest corners that are on Central time, the rest is Eastern time.

Yeah Pete, I did. Kim and I kept it a secret too as we had a house full of young teenage girls spend the night on Sat. We didn't dare tell em' they had an extra hour to stay up!

Secondly, I hate the time change. It's still warm enough that I might be able to get a run or two in before it gets cold done here in Georgia. Upper 60's all week and sunny. It sucks that it's getting dark at 5:30.

With GPS tractors and combines (that can run through the night during harvest), is there really a need for daylight savings anymore?

Having grown up on a farm, I can confirm this other invention that tractors and combines have that allow night time operation....lights!

Seriously though, most farmers totally dislike DST. A big issue with harvesting is dew. With DST, farmers will have to wait even later in the day to allow the dew to dry off to start harvesting. This is mostly an issue with soybeans.

I love DST. Gives more opportunity to hit the lake after work. Being in Indiana, on the complete western end of the Eastern time zone, it is still light enough to ski past 9 for the majority of summer.

With all this rain, and people not getting in as early as usual. The standing water is more of an issue this year. Moisture content is terribly high. I'v heard alot of talk lately about harvesting lasting into Dec. this year.

Yeah my parents' corn has been around 30% moisture so far, ideally you want 15%. The corn is so wet/mushy that it is getting damaged during the harvest.
