Hi All,

My '96 Super Sport is getting stiff going into gear, once in gear it throttles up fine, The stiffness is not coming from the cables but from the throttle assembly itself. I have looked on the net and can't find anywhere to get a replacement, the only one i can find is the MV2 on skidim, but mine only has the throttle lever visible, not like link in the link below.

http://www.skidim.com/prodinfo.asp?number=MV2

Anybody know which throttle assembly CC used on the 96 super sport or will the Mv2 would work.

Cheers
Ross

Hi Ross.
The first thing you might try is to unhook the ball and socket at both the transmission and the throttle body one at a time and both and see if the stiffness goes away in the control. If it does more than likely the problem is un-adjustment of one or the other or both. It has been my experience that the transmission adjustment at the selector lever produces the symptoms that you described.
Another has been that their is a Farrell that rides on the post in the control that operates the cam mechanism and it has become dry and worn and will cause a stiff grinding feeling in the control.
The control is very easy to service once you free it from the gunnell.

Good luck and keep us informed of what you find.

Jody
