Anyone in the northeast interested in meeting up at the boat show this year? I havent seen any of you since LG... no good! The show runs from Feb 20-28. Ive got a bachelor party to go to on the later weekend, so my vote would be for either Sat Feb 20 or Sun Feb 21.
Who else is in? Brad, if you see this, I owe you a phone call!!! |

I will try and make it, Tim, I met up with Brad acouple weeks ago up at Okemo. We talked about the Ski and Ski for April, and I am in for that.
I also want to plan a weekend for the northeast crew to get together just in general up in VT, my place can sleep 8 adults in total, and I dont know Brad's situation but he can comment on that idea. We need a date for that. I think keith is lost, havent seen him post too much lately. I called to wish a merry xmas and happy new year the other day to him. keith if you read this i know you've been busy which is understandable. LETS get a date set for this VT trip setup too. -Phil |

360 miles in so far, yeah i was reading on my snowmobiling forum that there is a 18 yr old missing up near China Lake since Friday night. The kid could have gone home a different way but apparently china lake was not completely frozen as the news says.
Going to Chester this weekend, 23rd, then up to Northern VT end of the month. So hopefully by the end of the month I will have over 1000 miles on the sleds. |

Yeah, I don't think they've found him yet.Not good. I'll shoot you an email in a few weeks. I might be able to grab a few days to maybe hit the trail w/you this season if you're up for it.
It would be nice to see you at the boat show. Say hi to your dad for me Mike |

1st Sunday sounds good to me, but whenever you guys go I'll try to get there. I bet the Nautique dealer will have a good display seeing it's their first year.
Mike, I went to Sunday River yesterday. The skiing they had was good, but they need a couple of big storms. The best trails were still closed. |

I know they own both mountains, but I was thinking Okemo because I have 2 full beds, a set of bunk beds, 2 twins in the family room, a pull out couch and futon for people to sleep. And I cant vouch for Brads arrangements.
We just have to figure out a date, I am busy the weekend of January 29-31 heading up to Northern VT for a snowmobile trip. And we are renting the house out Feb 12-16th. -Phil |

Hey! I'm game. For me it is a solo trip... the Mrs. doesn't ski. Last year I went to Loon and Wildcat for the first time in 20 years. I know I have been to Okemo, I just can't remember when.. 30 years!!

I spoke to Keith this week- sounds like he's interested in a winter ski trip, as am I. Lets take a look at the available weekends and pick something. My vote right now would go to either the boat show weekend (Feb 19-21) or the first weekend in March (5-7).
Sounds like Sun Feb 21 for the boat show would work for several of us... I say we lock up the date. Im definitely up for lunch and beers afterwards. |

Yeah I can plan on the 21st too, for the boat show.
So lets plan on getting an available weekend for a ski trip. Someone shoot out some dates they might be available and we will pick. |

not to sidetrack this thread but if any of you ski in VT I need a used but decent lift ticket from a VT resort for a school project my daughter has. I'll pay the postage if you can send.
As for the boat show I could meet anytime. |

Hey fellas, Happy new year!
I would love to join you all for the bean town boat show....But.... Feb 21 is Cheney's B-Day. Unless I'm buying her a new ski boat for her b-day this year, probably can't justify attending the show that day... Have fun and be sure to take the obligatory annual group boat show photo -Brad |

Seems like a no-brainer to me Brad...I think Cheney would like a nice white on blue 200. See you there |

Went to the Cincinnati boat show, the show was smaller, the crowds smaller.
77 marine brought a new 200 open bow, very nice, the layout is really well thought out, roomy, but he did say no footin' unless you opt for the 409. The salesman said they are going to do a v drive on the same hull as a crossover boat??? |

Just curious, the base engine for the 200 Open Bow is the 343 horse, right? That wouldn't be enough power to barefoot? Or is it just bad for that particular set up to run that kind of rpms?

Just as I suspected! The 343 Excal in that hull just isnt enough- its sounding like the 200 hull is pretty slow. I've heard not to expect more than about 43mph with that engine, and 47mph with the 409. According to the Waterski boat buyers guide, the Excal 200's are getting 12.5x14.25 4-blade props. I saw a 12.5x15 4-blade on the one in Lake George. Either way, it looks like they need to drop the pitch to move that hull. |

I may be mistaken, but I think I recall Adam saying that he had ridden behind the 200 with a little extra weight and that it was definately a "rideable" wakeboard wake. For a ski boat anyway...... So maybe a crossover model is not out of the question.Seems to me though, as a v-drive crossover, you'd be catering more to the weekend warrior skier/boarder/family. Can you imagine what price a 200 VDrive crossover would command. Not sure the market would bear it. Mike |

Some of the best riding in the state is in that area Phil. Been there many, many times. You ever been on Portage Lake? I had the speedo on my 98 SRX buried @ 120mph for what seemed like an eternity on that Lake one day......it was actually boring, lol! I haven't been up that far for a few years.Let me know if you have any questions about the area. Mike |

Hi Guys,
Mike reached out to me to see if I can make it… Feb. 21st is my daughter’s birthday. I was hoping to squeeze in a trip to the show, but it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to make it. I’ll probably head to the show the following weekend. Hope everyone has a great time! Kyle |
