Should I apply any kind of thread dope or tape when reinstalling the drain plugs in the engine, risers and water pump? I have a 1997 196 with a Pro Boss engine if it matters.

I put a drop of anti-sieze or centers grease on the threads. No teflon tape or threadlock.
