Guys,
Do the Signature Edition Ski Nautiques of 1996 carry more value than a normal Ski Nautique? I'm looking at one as an option and was just curious about this. Thanks. |

It could due to the fact that they come pretty much loaded for that time period.
My '95 for instance came with H/C shower, 3 speed heater w/pull out hose for observer, stereo w/CD changer 4 speakers & amp, lights under the gunnel's and bow, fold-away ski racks, depth finder, coolers in the dash and floor, auto bilge pump and the EFI 330HP 351. Plus the color scheme is only available on the signature which I fell in love with as soon as I saw it. So with all the options it should be worth more than a normal ski. |

Everything I've read said it is a 310 HP Pro Boss 351 in the Signatures.

The sig edition has "cool" factor but that's about it in my opinion. Value-wise, 15 years later, they should be worth basically the same.
However, every sig edition I've seen has had the GT40 MFI engine which was a pretty rare option for 1995. It is a pre-FCC version of the GT40. Having this engine would give it a premium over a carb'd version from that year depending on who you are. You also get the 1997-style clamshell motorbox, which is a nice touch. The gel scheme is also the 97-99 tapered main stripe and "Master's"-style colors which give your boat a 97-99 look on the pre-TSC hull, which is a bonus. The interior vinyl patterns are proprietary to that model as well. |

It is the multiport EFI, I pretty sure the manual said 330hp I could be wrong, if I remember I'll check tonight.
This one ended up as the wifes favorite boat she liked all the extras, I still like the my '85. |

Nope, the GT40 was 310hp. You may be confusing the rating with the Excalibur (350 Chevy introduced in 2002), which is rated at 330hp.
The Proboss was rated at 285-300, depending on the exact configuration (carb vs. TBI) and whose literature you believe (PCM vs. CC). The only differences between the the HO 351's (carb'd Proboss, TBI Proboss, GT40) are the intakes, fuel induction and ignition systems- the longblocks are the same. Joel summarized everything nicely- though Im not sure I would call a '95-96 with a GT40 "rare". That engine would be worth a premium in my eyes, though the value of the boat really comes down to condition on something thats 15 years old. Even with the updated engine and nicer graphics compared to the standard model, it probably wont have *too* much of a premium, as a boat just a year or 2 newer (1997+) will have the preferred TSC1 hull. |
