I bought this boat last year and used it quite a bit but have not used it much this year. I have replaced alot of parts on this boat. It has a new apco starter a new alternator. I put a new impeller in it in may. I had the rear main and the oil pan gaskets replaced by a local marine shop this spring. has new plug wires. the interior is in pretty good shape the previous owner had the engine and bimini top and the upholstery done a few years ago. i have the paper work from that it was done at a correct craft dealer. i put a cd player and two speakers under the dash works with ipod. its been a really good boat i just am not using it much. i would like to get 5000 for it ive got a little more in it than that. i will consider trades Thanks for looking. if you have any ?s just ask or if you want more pictures i can email them.

Josh,
All of the above is good but the big question is how are the stringers? In a 75, I guarantee there are problems unless the hull has had a stringer job. 5K is is really too much if it hasn't had the job done. When was the last time the alignment has been checked?

I'm bringing this up because trust me, the condition of the stringers will be the first question asked by most buyers. More detail and more pictures in you for sale listing may also help. If you expect this boat to sell, price compensation is needed.

Well I'm assuming they have not been replaced I don't see any evidence that they have but they seem pretty solid. If the price too high what would be a fair price?

Josh,
A DIY stringer replacement ranges roughly from 2K to 3K depending on the materials used.

Since you didn't answer the alignment question, I assume it hasn't been done/checked since you've had the boat. Do one as it can be a good indicator of the stringer condition. When you open up the coupling halves, take some pictures of the measurements you get. Add that evidence to your listing. Maybe you'll luck out.

Others have made the "seem pretty solid" statement but when a through examination is done or the stringers are opened up, it's a different story.

Another good method of checking their condition is to take a 1" hole saw and randomly drill some holes. The pilot drill will remove some wood for a "core sample" and the hole saw itself will remove the glass so you can do a visual check of the wood. Under engine mounts and cross members close to the hull when water sits is best.
