Just curious to get all the engine info I can on my setup - the transmission mounts have Escort stamped in them and the engine is all painted white - the only ID tag I can locate is on the valve cover side and has the following info "4J 4CM13LO 671H"
Anyone have a source for decoding?

THANKS

I'm interested too. My 1975 SN has the same set-up, except that the valve cover sticker says GT255. Otherwise same paint color, same mounts, etc.

The exhaust manifolds are the same too. The sticker on mine still reads, "correct craft" -- yours probably did too. Anyone know what those manifolds are and where someone can find a replacement end-riser?

The core of mine is a 351W 4 barrel-- yours may be a 302 block or a 2-barrel (GT255 v. GT220 ??). Looking forward to learning.

Skfitz is correct on the 302 (220hp) vs. 351w (255hp) rating.

The marinization package is "Escort", which was around for a few years in the mid 70's. By '77, Escort had been absorbed by PCM. Pete has an Escort/PCM in his '77 Tique... it has the PCM ID tag that begins with an "E" instead of "P" and it used all the same marinization parts (exhaust manifolds, thermostat housing, accessory brackets, etc) as the Escorts.

The exhaust manifold (logs) had a sticker that used to read "Pleasure Craft Marine" what I can tell from some items in the reference section is it is the high output version of the 302 b/c it has the 4 barrel carburetor - I am assuming the GT220 sticker was an indication of HP rating since this coincides with items in the reference section as well - sooner or later I will be in for a rebuild and was just curious if there was any websites out there that could decipher the original factory setup. I have read that some of the "high output" 302's had larger valves which was essentially achieved by running 351 heads (don't really know for sure) but would be interesting to know - curiosity kills the cat sometimes and it is just fun learning about these old boats when it seems the OEM didn't keep much of a record

THANKS
