I bought a 1988 2001 and the red paint on the front hood is faded. Does anybody know how hard this is to restore?

Also if it is easier I would be willing to take it down to the white as that may look better.

thanks

Joe, welcome to Correct Craft Fan and get some more pictures of that 88 up and be sure to get some posted in the diaries.

What you have is not paint but a reverse gel coated boat. There aren't too many red and white ones out there and I have only seen one other one on the site.

You'll need to bust out the buffer and some rubbing compound to remove the oxidation of the gel. You may even have to do a little wetsanding but that depends on the condition of the gelcoat. Get some close up pictures of the boat and post here so we can get a better look at what you're dealing with.

KEEP THE RED!

good looking boat! Lets see some more pictures of it.

Morfoot is right, compound nad a buffer or wetsand depending on how bad the oxidization is.
