So I purchased a brand new canvas (sumbrella) cover for my boat (Air 206). The cover is black and a month old. I have been out of town and finally got back out this weekend. The back of my boat where the cover touches my seat tops is purple-ish black. I called the dude that installed it and he claims it is something called "Pink Mildew". I have never heard of this, my seat skins are all 90% or better. There are no other issues anywhere other than where the cover touches the seat. I will tell you that there is balck stuff on the fiberglass around the boat where the cover snaps in, but that came right off. Am I getting the run around? Is this something that anyone has ever heard of?

So.... Sumbrella has acknowledged that this is an issue and that they have alreay invested 100k in R$D. This is not due to any mildew at all, it is due to these large companies that are buying cheaper canvas that is not the quality that is used to be. I am also told this is a widespread issue that effects a lot of buyers. I am being told the Sunbrella will give me the finger on any warranty and that this issue "might" be resolved by constant cleaning, which to me means I will end up ruining the skins with all the chems. Buyer Beware.
