I have a 1965 Ski Nautique with a 312 Ford Interceptor. The throtle cable broke this morning. The cable is controlled by a foot pedal and is 12 feet long. Does anyone know if there is a replacement cable available anywhere or is there someone who repairs them?
Thanks

Welcome to the site! Lets see some pics of this beauty, and get her registered in the diaries. The cables are disposable when they break. Somebody who is more familiar with the foot controls will hopefully chime in soon, but here is a link to control cables.

CC used a couple different foot pedals. What's the cable end at the foot pedal look like? If it's not like the universal style, you'll need to do some adapting.

YES!!! We need pictures!!

Thank you for the welcome. Skidim.com seems to have only shift and lever type cables. Foot pedals are a bit 'dinosaurish'. As soon as she's more presentable I'll get some pictures out there.

Mr. Brainard,
The cable ends are identical. They are each threaded with the pedal end having a washer sandwiched between two nuts. This assembly then fits into a 'u' type clamp behind the pedal. The other end has a 't' type nut that attaches to the throtle linkage. The cable looks to be reversible and depends only on which end is used for pedal or linkage.

My throttle cable broke last weekend. I'd never replaced one before but I pulled it off. I was really easy. I bet you can use the ends off of your broken one.

It sounds like you're lucky and can use the standard universal control cable. Go2marine will make any needed length.
