I purchased a 2005 226 and noticed after some use that the prop is not flush with the shaft guide. Is this normal or has the shaft shifted from its original position. See photo Any help would be greatly appreciated!

are you referring to the space between the front of your prop and the strut? if you are, then yes, some space is normal :) welcome to ccf!

Lynn,
Kris is correct. The prop should not be close to the strut. The cutlass bearing is the strut is water lubricated so you ned the room for water flow. Normally it's about one shaft diameter but varies due to slightly different taper depths on every prop. Hopefully you havent been listening to some MC owner!! |

Would never do that Just had the jitters of buying a different boat. When you own a correct craft you only have to upgrade 1 in 20 years!!
