Does anyone know the meaning of the six digits after the 12 digit serial number. My serial number is XXXXXXXXM75E 16ST76. At first, after reading about production year and serial numbers on this site, I thought I had a 76. Then I learned/realized only the first digits are the serial number and the 75 indicates my production year. So what does the 16ST76 mean?
Any info about the boat, or just an assigned number.

75, the newer boats don't have the 6 digit
extension, I'm not sure what they mean.

Here is the explanation of the Hull Identification number from a 2001 Owner's manual.

"The hull identification number is a requirement of the U.S. Coast Guard for boat manufacturers. It is a standardized numbering system that assigns a specific sequence of numbers and letters to a specific boat. This number is molded into the hull. You will find it on the right-hand side of the transom just below the rubrail. Write this number down in your records and keep it in a safe place away from the boat.

Here is a brief explanation to help you understand the hull number:

The first three digits represent Correct Craft, Inc. (CTC). The next five digits are the boat's serial number. The following digit is a letter from "A" through "L" designating the month the boat was made.

There are three remaining numbers. The first of these represent the last digit of the year the boat was built. The final two numbers state the MODEL year. A boat built in August of 2000 is actually a 2001 model boat."

75, see the article below discussing Hull IDs
between 1972 and 1984. As I read the article
it looks to me like your boat was made
in December of 75, and is a 76 model. I think
Jerry's interpretation of your last six digits is correct.

Thanks for the info guys, as always the CCFan gang comes through. So it appears I have a 76 model, manufactured in 75. When I bought the boat last year, I was told it was a 75, and that is what was on the registration. I became confused when I started doing my homework, found that apparently ski tiques came out in 76, and I didn't know which set of digits in the serial number (plus 6) was the year. So, unfortunately my site moniker is not exactly accurate, as I guess it is a 76, but since it was made in 75, it's almost true and I don't want to pester Keith into changing my name. (and I don't want to resign up as 76Tique and lose my "Groupie" status.)

Sorry Paul, I think I'll hang on to her. We've come to be quite good friends in the past year. A nice red one was for sale on this site some time ago, but I guess you missed that one. I saw in another post that you are on Lake Wylie. Almost moved to that area several years ago (Tega Cay or River Hills) but ended up staying put. When relooking for water front in NC recently, considered the area, but were a little bit scared off by big busy lake next to big city, although I do recall there being a number of long coves that probably made for good skiing, including, if I recall correctly, at least one with a slalom course. Still, I remember going to the public ramp one weekend just to check it out and there must have been 40,000 trailers. Well I'm sure you find good times and good water. Its a nice area.
