My '74 Mustang 17 didn't come with a ski pylon. I am going to be replacing the floor over the winter, and I want to install a pylon. What do I need to do? Does the pylon mount to the floor or beneath the floor?
Thanks! |

My 72 mustang...pylon mounts into a fitting with a bolt that passes through the pylon and fitting...when you pull up the floor you should see a fitting.
Also ... when you replace the floor you will want support at the point where the pylon passes through the floor...usually a chrome flat disc around the pylon that screws down to the floor (over the carpet). I added extra hardware and support under the floor and glassed in in.It is super solid! When you are ready...let me know and I can tell you how I did it. That part of the floor gets worked hard! |
