Just got back from the Vallejo Reunion. A really nice day.
I'd say about 30-35 boats. Mostly newer boats, but there were a 63 and 67 Barracuda, a 66 American Skier, and a couple of 70s vintage Ski Nautiques. There was a raffle prize for everyone who brought a boat, and about 10 left over for those who didn't. Nice prizes - tower bimini, spare tire kit, wakeboards, waterskis, vests, gift certificates, etc. Also, West Coast Correct Craft had a lot of really nice CC swag for sale. Polo Shirts, Button Down Shirts, Sweatshirts, T-Shirts, Caps, and Towels. CC had one of every model, INCLUDING THE 220, in the water for demo rides. At $7 bucks for a hat, day of admission to the amusement park, barbecue, raffle prizes, water demos, and some great conversations, that's about the best deal I've had in a long time. Highly recommend those of you who couldn't make it try to get out next year. BKH |

BKH; Glad you had a good time, but if you really wanna see something, plan on Orlando next Spring. Awesome time and turn-out. LOADS of old boats. I even got to meet ReidP in person. We (wife/ best driver) had always attened up in Ohio but it was better here. Great ski show also at Sea World. Would you believe over 100 boats and 4 pavilions for the lunch? We have a guest suite built on our house, you're invited for next year. Love your posts and would be cool to meet ya and share a couple cold ones........jbear

Mighty nice offer jbear. We'll see how the
finances look next spring and might just take you up on that. I've never been to Orlando. BKH |

I was there too, I won the second place award for 71 to 81 years, out of 3 boats I think, won a $200 gift cert. for Nautiquegear.com.
Well worth the 7 bucks with a hat and t-shirt. I thought there would be more older boat because I've seen two 70's nautiques on the delta, well it makes the contest odds better. What boat did you have there? |

Captan, congrats on your prize!
Wish I'd had the chance to meet you. Wife had never been to the park, so I didn't hang around the boats as long as I might normally try to do. She had a good time, and that's good enough for me. Didn't bring my boat. It was on the lift, trailer was buried under my painting project, etc. I have a White 2001 Super Air with Blue Striping. Looking at the equipment some of those guys have in the boats, mine would have looked kind of bland anyway. I keep it as clean as I can, but pretty stock. I'm thinking I might pick up an an older project boat. I think it would be fun. Do you get out to Discovery Bay? BKH |

BKH: Check out USA 3000 or Airtran flights to Orlando or Tampa. Sometimes some rael cheap deals ahead of time. Lots of lakes and attractions around here. No Super Air in my garage but the '80 throws a pretty fair wake. Can remember back in the 70's when we first started using CC's, we never gave the wake a thought. After outboards we just were nuts for the CC's....jbear

Jbear, Southern hospitality is alive and well.
I've recently taken an 8 month sabbatical from the working world, and am looking at heading back to work soon. If vacation and finances permit, I'll give some serious thought to heading down next spring. Thanks again, BKH P.S. Doesn't matter what the boat is, I'm pretty lousy on the wakeboard anyway, but it beats sitting in the boat watching the young people have all the fun. |

BKH; Now I know why you seem to be on here as much as I am. Retired last year after 33 years as a phone splicer up in Ohio and made the move down here to have year round summer to use the '80 and my Harley. Loved being off but went back to work as a school bus driver for the county. Lots of days off, no evenings or weekends and I'm out of school for the summer just like the kids. Wife was a teacher up in Ohio and I always thought her hours were the best. Good luck on going back to work. Just don't be to serious about it....jbear
