Well my swim platform finally rot cracked, not the original one, this one is white oak and some genious painted it so it could not breath and finally gave up.

I'm planning on using white oak again or Jatoba if I can source it locally and using the old one as a template but then I found my design isnt the original one either. It's similar but with fewer sticks, 5 vs 6 or 7.

SO does anyone have a template or measures of the original platform for the 80 Ski Nautique?

What's left of my old platform

Someone posted detailed dimensions of the 2nd gen Ski Nautique platform at one point- maybe Mark Mel? Try a search.

Gary, I've been kicking forward many maintenance items on the boat as I've been pretty busy this year, just did the season service to take my nephews boarding past weekend and while instructing them from the platform it cracked, I hope to have it back by new years eve as I'm having some carpenter do the job for me since I dont have any wood skills not time either.

Tim, I will try to find it. thanks.

hey Lucho
any progress with the platform

Petiribi is what some of my friends ended up using for their platforms...not as nice as teak but looks good.

From an internet search:

"Petiribi wood, known for its beautiful grain and strength, gives warmth to this elegant bench. Not recommended for outdoor use. Made in Argentina."

Go for the Jatoba (AKA: Brazilian Cherry)

Hey Lucho,   Looks like you would have several nice local choices for a teak substitute.

Lapacho - a variety of Ipe which some use up here as a teak alternate.

Lignum Vitae or "Palo Santo" a resinous wood with an oily feeling.

I'd like to come down for a visit with a couple of chainsaws, but it sounds like cutting trees in your country might get a person in trouble.

bring on the saws!!! you'll only have problem finding the trees!!!

I'm temporary fixing the old one while I have the new one made, I have the template, just need to choose and find the wood. it seems to be a little more time consuming than I first considered.

Palo Santo looks really good!

Luchog, shipping may not make it worthwhile but Atlanta or Valdosta ga. Craigslist had a platform for. $100.
