Just curious if we would have anyone interested in getting a meet up for Lake Murray. Crap ton of coves and most of them already have slalom courses ready to go. I'm pretty sure I got the ramp/dock/beach space part covered, but I'm not great at facilitating events with my current work travel schedule. On top of that we got a brand new Nautique dealer in town I'm sure would love to get their name out.

I've thought about this before, John, but felt like there probably wouldn't be enough interest in getting people to middle SC. I also felt like it would detract from White Lake, SJRR, Green Lake, NE and Hootchie Run. There's pretty much a CC event every month from March thru August each year so I'm not sure how many people would make the effort to cram another in there.   Having said all of that though, I'd be more than willing to help coordinate something if there's interest. With regards to the CC dealer, I don't see them keeping that franchise long and I'd doubt they'd support it anyway b/c most of CCFAN is old boat stuff. JMO though. They won't be getting any of my business. Mark Schneider of PCM and Vince of SkiDIM may have an interest in supporting in some small way though.

You've tossed it out there so let's see what comes of it.

Lake Murray is on my Bucket List of lakes to dip my boat into. I would be able to attend. It is only 2 hours or so from my home.

I could probably do a Lake Murray gathering. It's only about a 3 hour trip for me and Pam's oldest is at USC so it would be good way for her to see her daughter. Always up for visiting new lakes provided they aren't too far away. Just gotta come up with a weekend and the necessary accomodations etc. John have you looked into any of this?

I would ask of Pam or of the daughter, but we know HW, so it must be Pam.

Tim,
Depending on how you look at it, accommodations could be the limiting factor here. There is a nice state park here, but it's reserved and packed during the summer weekends. No chance of us getting a block of sites (maybe not even 1) this summer as surely they've all been spoken for.

I'm aware of a private facility that could possibly accommodate us, but it's far from plush and amenities would be sparse. There is always the option of camping on an island, but it would be primitive camping to the core. Having said that, I'm game if you folks are. Let me check on this.   John, why don't you and I connect over the weekend, discuss some options and then report back to the gang.

Tim: I doubt i'd be in for an overnight, but if your Pam plan doesn't work, looks like an easy 2 hour interstate drive from Oconee. Perhaps could go grab the SW and check it out, or take Miss Scarlett. just food for thought.....

By the way, great FLA pix, looks like fun was had by all!

Pick a date and see who shows, any time 2 or more fans get together on the water is a good time. If you find the accommodations are abundant there's no telling what might develop over time. If I'm not mistaken, the first SJRR was just Billy and Reid going out on the water after the 500, and look what that turned into.

steve i got accomodations handled, so no worries there.

Off the top of my head I'm thinkin maybe the week before the green lake meetup. Figured those of us in the south who can't get up there can get something mid summer. Plus I do a big bruha for all my florida friends in july so might as well combine everything.

Lake Murray is not too far for me here in Winston Salem NC, so if the dates you pick work out I'd be in, even if for just the day.

Right now I'm thinking the 2nd week in July(12-14). Thats usually when I do my big bruha anyways so it wouldn't be that much more work bbq food/accomodations/etc wise. I have a couple of differnet options for accomodations depending on what the majority want to do. We have ramp/dock/trailer space at our house(community), and my neighbor also owns a half acre lake lot right down the road with a nice dock and gazebo(I think power and water) if we have majority campers/trailers that he lets me use.   Otherwise we also usually rent a house on the lake right down the road that can sleep 10-12. I need to go talk with the owner, but I also have a '70s' fishing camp on the other side of hte cove from me. Has a ramp and a bunch of cabins, but I need to see what he has to offer. Also the only place on the lake that has gas near me. Though there is a non-enthenol station just down the road as well.
