Now that spring is around the corner, got out and started checking out the boat to see what needs to be done prior to the season. One concerning thing I saw was these small cracks/bumps on the bottom of the boat. These are only on the bottom, but didn't remember seeing them this bad last year. Boat is a 89 SN, not stored in water since I've owned it (3rd season), but previous owner did keep in in the water (fresh lakewater) for extended periods during the summer.
Are these gelcoat bubbles or something else? Do I need to worry about them or just cosmetic? Original wood stringers if that makes a difference, though they seem solid and floor is good as well on the bounce test. Thanks Ron |

Sorry Ron but none of your pictures posted. At the bottom of your post is a "preview". Clicking it will show you your post before actually posting it on site. If in doubt, it's a great feature to use.

OK. Not worrying about the gelcoat and going back to worrying about the stringers
Thanks for putting my mind at ease. Anything preventative I should do to prevent them from getting worse (other than not storing in the lake)? Just wax it up? Thx Ron |

Beside an epoxy barrier coat and bottom paint, there's really nothing that can be done. Don't paint the bottom! Chris stated it very well that the "medicine" is not worth the worry.
Wax it and as HW said, don't look at the bottom! |
