Lift Canopy Material

I am in the process of raising my canopy so I don't have to raise and lower my tower every day. I am going to sew "curtains" onto the side of the current canopy to keep the rain/sun out. My current canopy is not canvas. It is some kind of plasticized fabric, almost like a tarp. Does anyone know what that material is called, or who a likely manufacturer would be? I don't necessarily need it to be water proof as the canopy top will handle the brunt of the weather, just need it to stop the blowing rain and block out some rain. Any suggestions?

There are at least a dozen canopy manufacturers I can think of off the top of my head. Pictures would really help. It's probably vinyl.

Tim- Those shades are not a bad option and are pretty cheap. Yes, trying to stay away from Sunbrella or similar $$$ materials.

Quinner- My idea is to put a zipper on the boarding side, maybe two. Back will be open. I forget the manufacturer of my lift (Harbor Master maybe), but my 210 will raise up nice and snug under the canopy with the tower down and not let any water get into the boat even during a windy storm. I would like to try to keep it that way. I am thinking about adding 4 ft of curtain as the top of the tower seems to add around 3 ft of height when up. If I raise the canopy by the same amount, the "duck under" height should be the same as now.
