Just in time for the boating season gas prices have shot up close to a dollar this week to all time highs in Minnesota. I saw 4.49 on my way home yesterday. Sounds like they shut down two refineries for maintenance in the Chicago area. Prices are to go higher and remain there through the fourth of July.

For thousands of years men have felt the irresistible urge to go to sea, and many of them died. Things got better after they invented boats.

They must have some really good critical-thinkers to dream up ways to pinch the supply for max profit. The crude output in USA is at an all time high, so we can't blame this spike on the Arabs!
2nd thought - a ploy for Keystone pipeline support? |

What would the price be if gas wasn't the USA's number one export of 2011 and 2012? We export 8 million barrels a week. Just read the other day that there's so much natural gas stock piled they're running out of places to store it and are afraid that the stock will bottom out so now they are going to export that too. If we have too much, convert more cars to run on it.

What would it cost to convert a ski boat to CNG?

Chris, I don't think you would like it. HP is 20% less and then add the weight of rather large CNG tanks. At least with propane, the HP is only 10% less. |
