Hello,

They were available everywhere. Not just in the UK.   However, I would guess the production numbers are low when compared to the Ski Nautiques and other more popular models.

It's hard to believe they ever amortized the mold cost on those low volume models!

As far as the 21 ft. Cuddy goes, It was a joint effort, I believe, between CC and Regal. One was popping hulls for the other.

I thought the Cuddy's were 23 ft. Ever since seeing one on Lake Winnepesaukee I've been interested in them.

I have a memory of a Cuddy 21 that was in fact laid up for us by Regal. Seems to me they were I/Os and we probably didn't sell 10 of them. Then we made our own Cuddy 23 on the Fish Nautique hull and sold a fair number of them. The cabin made quite a bit of weight up front, so it was no speed demon.

The one I saw had twins, I believe 302's. I'd love to own one at some point, I'm not a fisherman but it would make a terrific day cruiser. I have no idea how they handle open water as compared to a modern center console or walk-around, would be curious to hear.

Weight up front - Art, do you mean it's a Nautique that rides with the bow planted? Sounds like just one of the family!

There are 2 for sale on Ebay in the US right now also.

This one has been on a few times and hasn't received any bids. At that price, I can understand why. I emailed the seller a few weeks ago, suggesting that the price was way too high and that if he's going to try to sell a boat on ebay, some better pics are needed. At the time there were only 2 pics of the exterior with the cover on and that was it.

And here's an '81 that is about to expire with zero bids.

Here are all the pics of that 1981.

That '81 looks incredible. The hardtop and enclosure, repower, etc. make it one of the nicer ones I've seen. If any were worth $8,200 that might be the one. I'm guessing a trailer would be hard to find.

The question would be on a 32 year old salt water boat, though it certainly looks well cared for. And, of course stringers.

I realize the maintenance cost and hassle, but something about a cuddy with twin engines really catches my fancy.

Both of those are 23 footers, built on the Fish Nautique hull. You can see the amount of weight added forward of center. Not a boat you would want to take running into heavy swells. I had never seen a cuddy version with twins. We did make a few open fishermen with them. Maybe 6 or 8? You wouldn't have wanted to be the one who had to change the inboard side spark plugs! We made one for a guy in Alaska with a heated, glass-enclosed pilot house. They guys in Production referred to it as "the boat with the toll booth in the center."
