This is a very nice Momo Marine steering wheel. It's a dark stained wood that looks like mahogany with a thick clearcoat. The first two pics are the closest representation of the color of this wheel, but the second two are there to show some minor cracks in the clearcoat around the spokes. The wood is much darker than the second two pics would make you think. Looks great; especially when the sun is shining and you can see the grain of the wood popping out from under the clearcoat.

This steering wheel has an adapter that fits the keyed/tapered shafts on older Nautiques. It did not fit my 1993 Nautique Excel that had a splined shaft, but it did fit the 85 Ski Nautique that I had. I don't know the cutoff year for the splined/tapered shaft, but you can probably pull the wheel on your boat and figure out which one it has. If you need any measurements to confirm fitment just let me know what you need.

Looks great. I'd say it's in "good+"_ condition...Not quite "very good", but close. The flash on the camera picks up all the flaws, but it looks much better in person than in pics. It has small cracks in the clearcoat where the spokes meet the wood, but they really can't be seen without a close up inspection (pics included above that make it look far worse than it does under normal lighting).

No center cap, so you'll need to buy/make one that fits. I want to say that the center cap that presses into the stock wheel from my 85 Ski Nautique was too large to fit, but it's been a few years since I put it on that boat. You can always make it work with some trimming/epoxy, but that's up to the buyer.

I'd like $125 shipped. $110 if you're local to Raleigh NC and want to pick up.

Andy,
I'm curious. What years and models of CC did this helm wheel come on?

None that I'm aware of. I bought this on eBay for my 93 thinking I could make a hub adapter to make it fit. The holes didn't line up with the hub for my 93. A small plate between the hub and the wheel might have worked, but I never got around to it. I had an 85 Ski at the time and I bolted it up on that boat just to see if it would fit and it was perfect. The 85 already had a brand new Grant wheel that was in great shape, so I put that back on before I sold it.

FWIW, I'm selling it for the same price I paid on eBay, but the seller had no compatibility information. I expect that I could put it back on eBay and get roughly the same for it, but I thought I'd try here first since I know this hub is good for the older keyed/tapered shaft Nautiques.

OK, then why are you listing/posting the helm wheel on the CCfan site?

List the thing on Ebay!!

Please reply!!

Keith has enough problems trying to maintain the site in his spare time. he does not need extra posts. The server is MAXED OUT!!!!

If it sells here the site gets a donation. I think a few of our members have some non-CC boats listed in their signature lines.
For thousands of years men have felt the irresistible urge to go to sea, and many of them died. Things got better after they invented boats.

Because it fits and looks beautiful on a 1985 Ski Nautique and I thought someone here might want it for their boat.

Looking at the front page of the classifieds here there are plenty of non-OEM parts from OJ props, Monster Towers, non-OEM gauges, etc. What's the issue with my post?

I have the stock wheel from an 85 Nautique; wrapped with electrical tape, paint flaking, some rust, in usable yet ugly condition, that I'll gladly throw in if the buyer wants it. No additional charge.

That will fit any boat here with the proper adapter and probably most with the one he has. Not only are they nice, they're not all that easy to find in the States.

Not to thread-jack, but what would it take to upgrade to a better server? Maybe we should start a server-upgrade-drive to get Keith what he needs to help the site?

That's a pretty thoughtful post Pete...you come up with that yourself? Oh, what a minute...

Sorry but I need to say this. I feel you need an IT guy to take over. For years, the members have told you they will support the cost. I feel this is still true.

Finally, Pete, You like to keep your boats original.   That's great. You have a great fleet and you do a great job of keeping them original. But you are not everybody, and if someone wants to put a non original mahogany steering wheel on their boat, then good for them. Its non of your business and the guy has every right in the world to post his wheel here.

The 85 wheel particularly isn't the hottest of all time, that wouldn't be a bad upgrade.
