Funny Bob! Thats the type of answer we've come to expect from J_I_H.

Trike: Don't fret, its only money, you can't take it with ya. Besides everyone knows that with your C/C, cost is no object.

I seem to remember buying 6 yards. Just find out how wide the carpet is then just measure it up. If the width is sufficient to do the floor and sides, then simply the length of the floor divided by 3 is your answer. If not, then the floor length times two and then divided by 3 is your answer.

David-
I know you are speaking from experience when it comes to restoring a boat. Any chance you replaced the carpet on your '92? I am being told that a 6' wide carpet is wide enough for the floor on my '90... the measuring tape says 6' is pretty darn tight!

Or do you know if a 6' wide piece of carpet is actually a little wider (say, 6'3")?

Thanks!

Sorry, but no I did not have to replace the carpet as I deemed it in good condition and was able to protect it sufficiently during the restoration process. But, I would call a carpet supplier and inquire about the available widths and actual widths.

I know that some carpets are available in 8' widths, but hope I wont have to go that route. The CC carpet I'd like to get from the dealer is in the 6' width. The factory didnt have to deal with this limitation originally I dont believe, but thats the only way its sold through the dealer. Im awaiting word on an actual measurement. Thanks!

well, I bought 36' by 6' of carpet from Lowes for $100. I had to get plenty of it because it has "lines" and I want them to all go in the same direction. Its nice carpet and even if I bought 20 bucks too much who cares.
I figured 15 x 5 for the floor 18X3 for the one long side, should have plenty left to wrap the shelf thing there and seat base, few misc pieces. If not, Lowes is not that far away. Im going to try to chalk trace the old pieces on the new and cut it out, glue it in.
