So we got our 1st boat and folks here keep asking me for pics (but I keep getting error messages when trying to upload/HTTP 500).
So I posted them here: http://www.planetnautique.com/vb3/showthread.php?27471-Our-quot-new-quot-baby-(-94-Sport-Nautique)&p=214561#post214561 |

Boat looks great, if it's a 94' probably not a GT-40 unless of course it's been re-powered. Post some pics of the motor.

Will do later this weekend.
Our engine looks just like this one, pic at the very bottom of the page : http://www.correctcraftfan.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=7624&title=difference-in-motors Is that a GT-40? |

Yes that is a GT-40 in the last pic.
You may want to also double check the VIN number at the stern, maybe the boat is actually a 95' if motor is original. 95' was the first year of the GT-40 I believe. |

Chris, the HIN ends with B494, which put's this in '94 (or would that make it a 95 model year/)
Don't think it was repowered but will ask the former owner again. The fade decals also say EFi (but they could have been added later...) I also checked on the other sites and couln't get a straight answer re GT-40 and model year plus branding... (and I don't want to add to the confusion with my lack of knowledge) |

94 = 94 Model year 4 = built in 1994 B = built in Feb The GT40 debuted for the '95 model year- though very early ones were around in late 94 (my uncle took delivery of his '95/GT40 in Aug or Sept of '94). Either way, I do not think it is possible that your boat had the GT40 originally. If that engine picture is identical to yours, then its not a first year GT40, which would have had a slightly different (better) intake manifold. '94 did have the TBI EFI option, which would explain the sticker... so my guess is someone swapped it out for the GT40 after a few years. |

Toertel, I wouldn't worry too much if it is a repower. The GT40 is a bombproof powerplant and makes plenty of power. Great motor.

GT-40 for sure and has an FCC and different intake which means it's not a 95', interesting. Check out the motor SN, that may contain or have a mfr date in it or near it.

Paul, you posted late. Did you also stay up and watch the game?
We need a running game! James, I love the looks of the sport and it has enought room for the family. We are thinking about what to upgrade during the winter. My wife wants the carpet to go and add seadeck/flexiteak.... |

Toertel: You in Stone Mountain? If you want a nice quiet nearby lake try Oconee, maybe a bit more than an hour from SM and a real easy trip from there. I keep my boats on Oconee; 375 miles of shoreline, lined with zillion dollar houses, and the lake is typically deserted. If you ever wanna drag yours over, or take a blast in my 74 Southwind let me know... |

Jeff, We'r in ATL close to lakeside high, near PDK.
But I walk the dog at Stone Mountain a lot and a=think it would be perfect for a one boat place... I'll keep Oconee in mind for one of our future trips! |
