Does anyone happen to know what the width and length dimensions are of the deck stripes (2 small outer and one wide middle) for the early 70s boats? I am having a decal made and would like to know the correct dimensions rather than guessing.
Thanks, Robb |

1/2" - Stripe
1/4" - space 2" - Stripe 1/4" - space 1/2" - Stripe A decal won't look correct when it rolls down over the forward starboard bow to the rub rail. |

Thanks for the quick response. I think a cut will be made to align two pieces together so this does not happen. I'm guessing the stripe is centered on the starboard side windshield panel, or is it based off the centerline of the boat - if so, does someone know the distance?
Since I mentioned the windshield, what type of weather stripping should I use to re-install the windsheild with? 1974 Martinique, and it had some sort of cheesy foam underneath when I took it off. |

The center of the stripe is 14.5" from the center of the lift rings.
It appears to me it was based from the center of the helm. The closest thing to original I have found for the windshield seal is the grey pick-up topper or camper sealing foam tape. |

Did you have any ghosting under the registration decals?

Gary, there was a bit of ghosting from the old registration decals. Thankfully,it pretty much buffed out before getting the new numbers painted on.

You think it's amazing now you should have seen it when the PO had the tower on it I would safely say that Steve would never sell this one or the American Skier he has. You would have to pay him so much so that he could retire, but then what would he do being retired with no boat?

Gary's got that right, especially with the 73. I waited a loooooong time to find an early SN in this shape. PLUS its a SBC powered ride. Almost unheard of in the early ones.
. (the 64 I might be able to be talked out of if I could retire now... then I still have a boat... problem solved! ) . Heres a pic of the 73 the night I got it home ... after a 10+ hour round trip to get the boat... guess what the first thing to be removed from the boat was ? |

You would have kept it if it fitted through the garage door |

Here's what the racing stripe looks like when you have the Ford with the one extra cubic inch.
