I have a 1986 model 2001 that I spent 100 hours redoing the stringers and rebuilding the entire interior a couple years ago. I have a low end knock at WOT and loose oil pressure. My engine guy says main bearing or rod and motor needs to come out. Any tricks or things I should look out for? Looks very straight forward to me and want to get back on the lake...

Thank You in Advance for the help.
1986 model 2001 gutted to hull and completely rebuilt from inside out.

1992 SN, I pulled the motor for a rebuild. Covered the interior in plastic, pulled motor with transmission attached. Taking my time and being cautious, I think it took 3-4 hours. It was not a big deal. Rebuild cost $1800.00 from a professional shop. (4 years ago)

My cherry picker would not raise high enough to get the engine over the side of the boat. I ended up using a chain hoist. See below:

Consider removing a trailer wheel to get the boat lower before you begin.

Install a fresh trans dampner on the flywheel upon reassembly.
