Boat lift canopy maintenance

   My father has a 24' shore station, we had to remove the lift this weekend because we broke a lifting cable.

Before we did this we removed the canopy because it is typically windy and didn't want to chance any damage while out of the water.

We noticed the canvas is starting to get a little brittle and we are afraid if might crack or tear.

Is their any product we can put on it to "soften" it back up they way it was when it was new?
