For Sale:
Sherwood raw water pump with 1.25" hookups. Was taken off a Ford 302 Commander. I didn't get around to removing the pulley so the bracket and pulley are included. Seems to be in good shape. SOLD |

Not that it matters in this case, but that pump wasn't original on the Commander. They came with a Jabsco plastic body pump, and they burned up with great regularity. We retrofit dozens of them at Southeast. You should see a slot hacksawed in the old Commander bracket so that the pump could be installed with the pulley mounted. We usually installed the G21 pump, which is the one from the PleasureCrafts with the 1" hose nipples. That one must not have been done at SECC.

It was taken of my '79 Tique, oddly enough there's no hacksaw mark in the bracket.
In any case the pump is available once again. |

Do you know if these will work on any 302?

It will work on any engine that is piped with 1-1/4" inside diameter hose and uses a water pump with the in and the out connections 180 degrees apart. It will work on a LH or RH engine, you just have to mount it accordingly.

Art, wouldn't different manufacturers have different pulley offsets? PCM uses a center set pulley where my Escort (who knows if the pulleys and brackets are original there as I have washers for shims) has a negative offset pulley mounted with 4 bolts. Looks to be same pulley as my water pump.

Yes, you are correct; the different brackets used by the engine marinizers might call for pulleys with a different amount of offset. I don't recall what engine you have in your '76. If it's a PCM the hose connections on it are for 1" I.D. hose.
