The wife and I decided to walk to our downtown Wednesday night car show this evening. Lots of great classic muscle cars. But one REALLY stood out. I will post the engine first. The owner told me it was one of only two or three made by Ford (and their aftermarket partner that gets a lot of focus on this site) for street car use. Any of you Ford experts out there know what this beast is? Hint: 800 hp
The car it lives is way cool, and has a very unique story. Just want to see what the Ford FE engines experts have to say about the engine before I post a picture of the car. |

I'll bite. My first assumption says HM Galaxies but that's a Mustang motor bay, 69 probably. 800hp?

Well, Even a SOHC 427 didn't make that HP, 650 with dual carbs.
I'm sure its a very fine machine and indeed special just suspect that the story has swelled each time he tells it if the reported HP is that unrealistic. Unless he's real heavy on the NOS |

Looks like it says Cobra 427 on the valve cover....but 800 hp I think would be stretching it a might far on a carb and gasoline motor

I stand corrected. I thought the owner told me 800 hp, which I thought was high, but, it is a Ford FE, so I thought anything is possible. I just looked at his dyno run on youtube, and it is more like 650-675. I will post a link to the video. Lets just say this thing is one NASTY little snake.
I heard HM. Correct I heard 427. Correct (side oiler) I heard Mustang. Correct I heard '69. Correct |

Hmm, looks like the fender is a matching blue to my Dad's boat, looks like it would be a great tow vehicle...

Steve....You see blue!?! Man, that is GREEN. I can't see anything anymore and I can see green.
It looks something like this. It will definitely haul whatever you want, especially the groceries. |

I guess I knew it was green, so no room for the mind to think about other colors I guess.
I thought it was Grabber Green, but, the owner told me it was a custom UniRoyal green. The car was custom built (1 of 2) by Ford for testing UniRoyal Tiger Paw tires back in the day. This guy bought it when he was 19 from UniRoyal when they were done with it. He is probably late 50's/early 60's now. One lucky guy! Can anybody convert this link so it can be played without having to copy/paste it. It will be worth it at 38 seconds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2Tt4V_bw98 |

Dave is that car from Cary? George Lowe? Good possibility that my friend who did the body and paint on my MG did that car but I'm not 100 percent sure, thought it was blue.

You know what, the more I look at the engine picture, you guys are right. It looks blue-ish. My eyes are shot! My mind knew it was green though:).
Gary.....The car resides in your fair town. The owner said he was originally from Cary, but, lives in your town now. Not sure how long he has been there. The car has original paint on it (had a few chips and dings). So, not sure it has had any bodywork. George Lowe owns the excavating company right?? I think he owns the two seater Cobras, and has a couple of real ones. |

Here's another vid of the same car. Looks more green than blue to me. Regardless of the color, the car is sick. I've never seen one of these bad boys before. Wonder what it's worth?

Correct Dave. I'm pretty sure it is/was blue don't even know if he owns it anymore either. Had a lot of body work done and repainted.

Owner of the car in this thread is Paul Holtz or at least that is what is indicated on the Dyna Data Sheets. |

Paul Holtz is correct. He also plays in a band called "Face Made For Radio", or something like that. He plays around the NW burbs, and other nearby places (Durty Nellies, etc.).
