My 1996 Super Sport is going to have a 220 tower on it. My boat is locked away in storage and I'm making some changes to the width of the upper rear section of the tower using a comealong to pull the sides closer together. I am not needing to narrow it precisely but want it reasonably close so I can have it powder coated and not crack the new coating while I'm installing it later on.

What I'd appreciate is it any of you with that same hull could give me a rough measurement of the width of the boat behind the windshield about a foot or so. I'd like to specifically know the center of gunwhale flat area from one side to the other. I'm trying to figure out the center to center mounting distance.

Thanks for anyone running outside with a measuring tape!

Peter

I have a 1998 Nautique Super Sport. I took the following measurements from approx. 12" from where the back for the windshield meets the deck:

Outside width of the top of the gunnels - approx. 81"

Centerline to Centerline of the top of the gunnels - approx. 75"

It was only me measuring, no one to hold the other end of the tape measure perfectly in place. It might be best to wait until you boat is out of storage and take more precise measurements of the deck the tower will be mounting to.

Those are the same measurements I got when I measured it last year. I lost faith in my measurements when I kept seeing th "91 inch beam" on the specs sheet for the hull. Now I am confident enough to bend it "close" before powder coating it.

I am eternally grateful to you for posting. I see you're in RFD--did you come to Quinner's mini last year? Hope to meet you this Summer at Green Lake or maybe you want to slide over for a pull or three?

Unfortunately, I don't think I will be making it to Green Lake this year. It definitely looks like a fun time and I would like to try to be a part of it in the near future.
