Composite Stringers

I am rebuilding my 1987 Nautique 2001. I have the old rotted stringers removed am I am in the grinding /clean up phase to install the new stringers. I have talked to Coosa Composites about their Blue Water 26 material to use in lieu of wood. They claim these can be laminated together and glassed in just like wood. (I would have to laminate because of the length). Are composite stringers a valid option for replacing the wood stringers?

Yes they are.   Do laminate the parts together, stagger joints.   Shape and bed on to the hull.   Then lay up one layer of 1808 full length and out on the hull 8" each side , then where engine is lay up second layer 6" on each side.   The secondary stringers need only one layer.   

I went way overboard and did 2 layers of 1808 full length then 2 more where the engine is.   Waste of material and weight.   Make floor out of coosa, coat both sides with 1708 and laminate in place.   There you can use a couple of cross members under it but doubt it is needed. Again i went overboard.    

I used 25g vinyl ester resin which was excessive. I did however re do the rudder area and lifting ring area and made transom mods.

Recommend vinyl ester over epoxy, bonds almost as well and almost as strong but far less money.;   

By the way my boat is as solid as my old Hatteras.   Way over kill but its freakin strong.
