I have a 1993 Ski Nautique with a 351 in it. My prop right now is a banged up 13 X 13 brass 3 blade. I mainly tow wakeboarders with about 500 pounds of ballast in the back and 4 people in the boat. It actually throws a mean wake for all who crap on the early 90's closed bow ski boats for wakeboarding. The point is...should I stick with my 13 X 13 or is there a better size or pitch for what I am doing with my boat that will optimize my hole shot and speed stability?

If you have a 1.23 to 1 gear reduction tranny thats not the right prop.my 92 runs a 14x16,a 13x13 is for 1 to 1 tranny

I was going by the 13 x 13 and not boat yr but good point, if he is using that small of a prop on the 1.23:1 tranny then he's giving up a bunch but reguardless get an ACME prop

Its possible that he has the 1:1 tranny- a friend of mine has a '94 with one. Acme 540 or 542 in that case for sure.

If he has the 1.23:1, he'll want to take a good look at the Acme 470.

I am a big fan of the OJ XMP I would doubt there is any significant difference between its performance and the Acme 54x series I would go with whichever one was cheaper.

Joe, I agree- ETS on the Mastercraft forum compared the Acme to the OJ XMP and the results were pretty even.

However, I think the only OJ XMP props that are RH are 4-blades for the 1.23:1 CC boats. Your motor is standard LH rotation, correct?

Kmayotte, almost all CC's came from the factory with RH props- both 1:1 and 1.23:1 trannies. My comment above was directed at JoeinNY, as I *believe* he replaced the motor with a LH version and turns a LH prop.

If youre not sure which transmission you have, you can tell by the engine code, found on the PCM tag on the intake manifold. I know one of the letters indicates the transmission- I cant remember which one it is, but I do know that a PRDxxx motor will be reverse rotation and use the 1:1 (13x13 prop) while the PLDxxx motor will use the 1.23:1 (14x16 prop).
