'78 Ski Nautique Surging

   Dropped the boat in the lake a few weeks ago and it started easily and idles smoothly. However, it's got a slight hesitation from hard acceleration and while maintaining speed (any speed) around 25mph, you can feel & hear the engine surging & lagging a bit. My tach's not been working for the last year or so, so I can't say how much, but it's definitely noticeable. Did the oil change & fuel/water separator change a couple months ago and it ran fine. I've heard of people having issues with Costco gas in various vehicles (though I've never had any issues in anything I own) and we did fill it up on the way up to the cottage. 

Any Thoughts?
