That just might help Pete, also recognition of the reality that these older plywood Correct Craft boats just don't fetch that kind of money. Adjusting the price to a more realistic $3000-$4000 range price might be more of a help in the sale. Just trying to be realistic here as an owner of one or two. We are getting ready to start the restoration of the Starflite in fully aware of the final value and that the cost of the work may well exceed its final value. Wonder if any agree with me.

I kinda like that trailer for aftermarket. Any more details or closer pictures?

This is my experience as well. And for every "one of xx" or whatever other history, features, upgrades, or other qualities each individual wooden boat has, there are 1,000 others that are special in their own way, too. That's what makes them great! To the current owner, that is.

Sometimes you are lucky and find someone else who wants the exact one you have, and sees all the work done, the value in that, and makes the purchase.

I also agree that the specialty listings are the best place to find such a person.

Best of luck with the sale, it looks like fantastic boat. I'd like to see more pictures!

A few years ago I knew someone who lost their 1966 21' Century Resorter in a fire. Apparently there were only 150 ever made in the 63-66 era but after a little searching, the guy had another one just a few weeks later. I'm sure he was willing to pay just about any amount.

You just have to find that 1 guy (or gal!)

I have had several classic cars that someone several states away came & bought, never even sat in them.

My biggest fear is someone will buy it for the engine and junk the boat. B7ME Ford Y-blocks are a rare engine. It can used as a service replacement on early Thunderbirds.

I found a closed cooled V6 on local Craigslist, I may swap out the engine and use the boat. The aluminum Intercept parts are too rare to use the engine here in saltwater.

People do run them on the ocean. I have a friend that rebuilt an Interceptor 292 last year for a guy on Narragansett Bay in RI and he is currently rebuilding another one for a Correct Craft that is on the ocean in Downeast Maine. Both boats supposedly have been run in those locations for a long time.

And if it comes down to needing exhaust manifolds, the originals can be rebuilt like new or better.

Yes, restoration can and typically does come down to being expensive but when an item is no longer available rebuilding or even making something from scratch is the only option. Crow sure does nice work.

At least you didn't have the extreme burden of restoring the Hathor The Lathrop 115-6 got very involved. Larry ended up needing a pattern maker for the engine jugs, a foundry to cast them and then a good machine shop to finish them.

Steve, when you started flirting with that Buick Revley did you think the cost would be "not much"?

First off Steve, never, I repeat never post any prices on a project- you may end up paying twice if you get my drift
Second is you'll forget the price the first time you drive it,it's tough now because all you have are the bills. I'm guessing you have never driven it ?
