1994 SNOB. What is the secret to removing the rubber trim / strip that hides the windshield mounting screws? I've been tugging and prying, but it feels like I'm going to tear something up. Any tips or tricks?

KENO:

Knee is back to 100%. Thanks for asking.

I skied last Saturday and everything felt great. I'm heading out for 7 day houseboat / watersking binge.

Jonny, I have a 1994 closed bow, and tighten mine almost every year. I take a flat head screwdriver and start prying it loose at the very end. Once it gets started it comes out really easy. Mine has never been that hard to get started. Then it snaps back in place pretty easy as well. Mine might be different, but it looks similar to your picture.

JQ - Start easy though, and don't 'rip' them out once they start. Our boats - and thus their rubber seals - are going on 25 years and those seals are not going to be nearly as pliable as they were when they were new and could break easily. If they come out in good shape check them over well for dry rot cracking. The harder (dry) the rubber is the more difficult they will be to reinstall.
