 Greetings from sunny South Africa. I just bought this boat as a project and I hope to restore it into something useable. This will be the second one I restored. The previous one however had an engine and was pretty complete parts wise. Be ready for many questions and seeking advice

Welcome with a new project. I had a friend with a black Nautique, he bought a 2001 when they first came out, 1982 I think it was and had it painted black. In my opinion it was way too hot for our summer ski outings but it was sure cool to look at.

I'm also wondering about the black. Especially with the hot African sun. I'll see when it comes down to sanding and respraying if a colour change is viable. I'm pretty sure it wasn't the original color

I have a navy blue deck boat and yes, the dark color is pretty hot !!

Well,right now the color isn't what keeps me awake at night. Sourcing an engine is the big headache
