Anyone out there have any issues when filling the gas tank on the late 80's Martiniques. My Fuel vent is clean with no restrictions. My boat takes forever to fill. It usually takes me 30 minutes for 20-25 gallons. The only point of interest I could find is the fuel inlet to the tank has an awesome 90 degree elbow that is welded to the tank.

My '87 Martinique only takes a few minutes to fill. Does this happen to you at every station you fill up at? Does the pump shutoff kick in due to backfill when you put gas in? I think my filler is a straight shot. No bends. I'll look next I use the boat.

Where you located in IND? I hail from the Fishers/Noblesville area, Grew up skiing on Morse Res. waaay back in the day behind my dads Chryzler boat.

Hi David,
Yes, I have the pumps shutoff at pretty much every gas station I go to. The fuel hits the 90 degree bend and just tumbles. If you can imagine squeezing a gas nozzle at 10% open and holding there for 30 minutes, that is my struggle . I tend to go to the gas station at 11pm to avoid being an inconvenience to others. I'll get a picture tonight I live in Battle Ground, approximately 1hr north of Indy.

Same 90 degree set up as my 93. It too takes forever to fill. My typical 1/2 mile trip to ramp doesn’t include a gas station so I find filling it with Jerry cans to be easier and well, quicker. My routine is grab the 6’ ladder, use it to facilitate cleaning the boat then I throw gas can on top of it and use a jiggler hose to fill the boat while I clean the other parts of the boat.

Turn the gas pump handle upside down
