Cruising back to the dock on Saturday trying to minimize pounding of the boat from the chop and Four Winns boat came dangerously close to us from behind. One of those types were you wish DNR was there to deflate the guys ego. Well, they say Karma's a B!*$h. As we turn a bend, we see that same Four Winns boat in the middle of the water with the engine cover up. We get near and hear the dude loudly say "I've got NOTHING". The lady of the boat keeps turning the key but nothing is happening. The dude is getting noticeably anxious and angry. We ask if they want help or a tow and he said either, so we put the bumpers out and I jump on board with my....this is for you Pete...VOLT METER! Thinking either a dead battery or loose connection from the chop, I check the battery for voltage which was good. checked engine ground connection to battery which was good, and finally checked voltage at the starter relay, good. Did those tests first since they were all just right there and was done in 5 seconds. So of course moved to the helm, disengaged the safety lanyard and re-attached. Turned the key and it fired right up. Dude was instantly embarrassed, but extremely thankful. Lady didn't seem overly impressed. My wife on the other hand ;) ;) ;)

5 years of reading through this forum gave me the knowledge to get that guy going again (even though it was really stupidly simple) by keeping a level head and just "CHECKING" voltages. So thanks everyone!!!
