i have the engine out of my 66 mustang. found some rot where the lags hold the motor
down. using a small drill it does not appear to go but a few inches for and aft of the holes. from my reading here i am inclined to cut the glass off the top get the rot out back to decent wood treat with cpes then bed new wood with epoxy. opinions welcome should i simply buy that west stuff thin with acetone for the treatment then use it normally mixed to bed the new wood and the new glass top. i dont like the glue a dowel in the hole idea. thanks philip |

Phillip,
Soaking the holes with CPES is an option as well as a thinned mix of anyone's brand of epoxy. Give it a try. Where are those pictures you promised? |

You might want to use aluminum angle under the motor mounts after you cap off your repair. The angle will help spread the load.

That’s a 69-70, not a 66.
