Hey Everyone,
I must admit right from the start that although I've been following this Fan Site for some time before joining it was because of my other boat. My 1966 was originally equipped with a Holman Moody 302. It was then upgraded to a 351 but finding info on repairs, mods, and upgrades are sometimes not so easy to locate. I boat on a creek here in Maryland near Pasadena and am always looking for some summer fun. Hanging out on a sandbar and hopping bars is one of my favorite things to do. Please don't shun me because I don't drink, but I do have plenty of friends who make up for it and I feel good about keeping my eye on them to not do anything too stupid. I've only seen one Nautique while in my travels along the creek and thought it was a cool looking boat. Mainly because it was an inboard and it had a 351 in it. Needless to say my appreciation for them led me to buying one. Well, two to be honest. I picked up a '72 Mustang not long ago, a pretty little boat that seemed to be in good shape. The boat needed new exhaust which was included in the sale. Easy fix I thought, until my OCD behavior decided to replace the floor. Yes, I found some rot and also a freeze plug laying in the bilge. I did manage to get the 318 to turn over and fire up briefly, so I don't think it is a loss at this point. But maybe i will get it out on the water this year if I don't waste too much time on it. Now to my second Correct Craft. Wanting the right trailer for my Mustang, I found one but it had a 1976 17.5' Ski Nautique on it. A bit of a project as well, but brand new professionally installed stringers had been replaced on it. It did also come with a running 350 motor, velvet drive, and other parts included. A bit of a conundrum now I am in to get one of these boats ready for the water, and the finances to do so. I may be wanting to sell, trade, barter or pay outright per the suggestions of this group and the help to do so. Sorry for such a long post, and Thanks for the add. ![]() |
