A reman 302 CCW long block is $1699.
A reman 351 CCW long block is $1799. I have a 78 Ski Tique with a 302 I am going to rebuild. But let's pretend I was going to buy a long block anyway, is there any reason why I shouldn't spend the extra $100 and upgrade to a 351? Or should I build the 302 as a 331 stroker? Now I'm getting cornfused... |

well that depends on if you want to buy a new distributor and intake with that 351 long block, you'll need a bigger carb as well or atleast re-jetting depending on what you have now.

And I was wondering how he knew my link was frozen. This is pretty personal info to be putting out on the internet. Now the whole world knows.

The end of the story is coming. Thanks for the support. Knowing someone wants to hear is a motivator. I need to get the marine maps out and look at the journey and recall the events. I didn't take notes and I should have. Most of the excitement was covered in the story - the rest is mundane except of the return trip through the bay from the intercoastal back to Chocolate Bayou. But then again, there where the porpuses that swam along side of the '68 for a while and the tug boat pushing the barges against the bank to regain control in which I got caught in the prop wash and found my '68 doing an uncontrolled 360 and then there was the gates controlling the lock and the gate operator who coudn't see me and did not know to open the gates to let me through. Plus I was not sure where I could buy gas and if I had enough to make it to the next open marina. Now I'm getting excited again. Thanks for bringing it up.
