Hey all,

About to start a repower on my 79 fish nautique, taking out the original 351w PCM engine.  Sourced a donor Mercruiser/Cummins 2.8EI 200 engine(800hrs).  From my research the torque and horsepower figures line up perfectly around 2300-2400 rpm on both engines with a considerable fuel savings with the diesel.  I have sourced the correct flywheel housing and coupler.

Just curious as to if anyone has done this repower or something similar.  I know I'll have to make a new harness (I have all the gauges from the donor engine)  but other than that the stringer width measurements all line up pretty spot on.  I plan on documenting the refit in pictures as well as I can but looking for anyone who has put a turbo inline four in any of these boats.  The company I work for is a Mercury dealer and we have access to all the databases and parts they have but I feel like there still may be some unknowns.  Currently have a 71C and I know this is a little higher than the rated horsepower max on these gears but I'm going to rebuild the gear prior to hook up.

Starting this in the next week or two so any input would be greatly appreciated!

Picture for attention

Welcome, and we look forward to learning more as your project goes!
