When I 1st got my previous boat, a '99 176 about 10 years ago, I found a spare shaft for it on Ebay. It turns out it was the wrong size, which I found out when having to replace it before selling the boat. So now I've got a spare 43" shaft. $200 + actual shipping. I'm in San Diego, so local is easier, but I'll ship it if need be.
